Piesie Esther Says TGMA Debate Has Not Damaged Her Relationship with Diana Hamilton

Piesie Esther Says Diana Hamilton

Gospel musician Piesie Esther has rejected suggestions that controversy over the Telecel Ghana Music Awards nominations created a rift between her and Diana Hamilton.

Speaking to Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, she maintained that their relationship remained unaffected by the public debate.

“Not at all,” she said when asked about a possible disagreement between them.

The discussion centered on Piesie Esther’s exclusion from the 2026 Artiste of the Year category, in which Diana Hamilton received a nomination. Piesie’s song Nyame Ye instead earned nominations for Most Popular Song and Gospel Song of the Year.

Some supporters questioned the selection, arguing that Piesie’s work deserved recognition in the top category.

The singer admitted being disappointed by the omission but said the reaction online had also been unsettling. At times, she avoided social media because of the intensity of the comments.

Despite that experience, she made clear that the awards debate had not become a personal dispute with Diana Hamilton.

Piesie Esther is promoting her song Great Change and preparing for her Flora By Grace concerts in Accra and Kumasi in November.
