
Certified relationship expert and family life coach Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh has died at the age of 42.
Her family announced her death in a statement published on her official Instagram account, saying she passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, following a brief illness.
The news comes about two weeks after Lara and her husband, Nigerian media personality Teddy Don-Momoh, welcomed their first child together, a baby girl.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh. After a brief illness, Coach Lara passed away peacefully,” the family said.
Her relatives have requested privacy and prayers as they mourn the loss. Details of her funeral and burial arrangements are expected to be announced later.
Lara, popularly known to her followers as “Dear Coach Lara,” was widely recognized for her work as a relationship coach and cognitive behavioral therapist.
Through her professional practice and online platforms, she helped individuals and couples address marital challenges, emotional trauma, heartbreak and personal-development concerns.
Her death has generated an outpouring of condolences from clients, colleagues, followers and members of the wider Nigerian media and relationship-coaching communities.
Lara married Teddy Don-Momoh in April 2023. Their marriage received considerable public attention, particularly from supporters who had followed Teddy’s healing journey after the death of his first wife.
Teddy was previously married to Nigerian gospel singer Kefee Obareki Don-Momoh, known for songs including Branama. She died in June 2014 following an illness.
In addition to her newborn daughter, Lara is survived by two older children, her husband and other family members.
She will be remembered for using her voice and professional experience to help people recover from emotional pain and build healthier relationships.
