Ghanaian visual artist Sharon Dede Padi officially unveiled her record-breaking leaf print painting at the National Theatre of Ghana in Accra on March 5, 2026.
The artwork has been certified by Guinness World Records as the Largest Leaf Print Painting, making Padi the first person to hold the title. The monumental piece measures 54.33 square meters, which is approximately 584.8 square feet.
The painting was created using individual leaf prints from indigenous plants such as neem and plantain. According to the artist, the use of natural leaves was meant to symbolize the diversity of communities, cultures, and landscapes across Ghana.
Although the record was originally achieved on July 11, 2025, and officially confirmed on December 9, 2025, the public unveiling took place in March 2026. Earlier in the year, the artwork had been presented to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts (Ghana) before being showcased to the public at the National Theatre.
