Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale has extended a playful invitation to President John Dramani Mahama to watch his headline performance at ShattaFest 2026, suggesting that the President follow the live broadcast from home if unable to attend.
In a post on X on October 17, 2026, the artiste encouraged Mahama to relax and enjoy the show, highlighting the broadcast options available to viewers outside the stadium.
ShattaFest was scheduled for Saturday, October 17, at the Accra Sports Stadium, with a 6 p.m. start time. The festival also serves as a birthday celebration for the musician, whose real name is Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., bringing together members of his Shatta Movement fanbase.
Organised in collaboration with MoMo Fest, the event adopted an all-white dress code, with live coverage advertised on GHOne TV and Shatta Wale’s official YouTube channel.
The invitation to the President added to online excitement surrounding the concert, as supporters shared promotional messages using the hashtag #ShattaFest26.
Football personalities were among the prominent figures linked to the celebrations. Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, former striker Prince Tagoe and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare were named among those expected or reported at the venue.
Shatta Wale’s father was also reported to have arrived early, while organisers extended invitations to business leaders, including Kofi Abban.
The musician’s invitation follows his appearance at the 2025 President’s Cup, where he performed without charging a fee as a gesture of respect for Mahama. Footage of the President singing and dancing to “Mahama Paper” during that event drew widespread attention on social media.
His latest message offered Mahama another opportunity to share in the celebrations, whether at the stadium or through the live broadcast.
