Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale has revealed that he has earned approximately $45,000 from gifts received during TikTok livestreams, highlighting the income opportunities available to artistes who maintain an active connection with their fans online.

Speaking on rapper YPee’s The Real Ones podcast, the musician said content creator Jackline Mensah encouraged him to explore TikTok Live. Before making the switch, he had regularly interacted with his supporters through Facebook Live.

According to Shatta Wale, gifts sent by viewers during his broadcasts have become an additional source of revenue, complementing his earnings from live performances and music streaming. His experience, he explained, demonstrates the value of building and maintaining relationships with audiences across digital platforms.

The dancehall star also encouraged emerging musicians and creative entrepreneurs to remain committed to promoting their work. He stressed that consistent engagement with supporters should be a regular part of their efforts to grow their careers.

His message extended beyond earning money online, emphasizing the need for creatives to keep their work visible and nurture the audience supporting it.
