The solemn ceremony, held at the Green Flavour Events Centre in Community 9, drew a large turnout from Ghana’s entertainment industry, with mourners dressed predominantly in black and red to pay their final respects to the beloved actress whose passing has left the creative arts community in mourning.
Among the notable personalities present were actors and actresses including John Dumelo, Joselyn Dumas, Nikki Samonas, Gloria Osei Sarfo, Vivian Jill Lawrence, Kalybos, James Gardiner, Salma Mumin, Nana Ama McBrown, Selassie Ibrahim, and Roselyn Ngissah. Gospel musician Empress Gifty Adorye and musician Nana Boroo also joined the gathering in solidarity with the bereaved family.
The event featured worship and praise sessions, scripture readings, musical performances, tributes, and a sermon celebrating Beverly Afaglo’s life and contributions to Ghana’s film and television industry. Throughout the evening, many attendees struggled to contain their emotions as touching memories of the actress were shared.
One of the most emotional moments came when Caleb Afaglo, the actress’s brother, addressed mourners on behalf of the family. Fighting back tears, he reflected on Beverly’s faith and resilience during her final days.
“She was a woman of faith. She was tired of the poking in her arms, legs and hands and strongly believed that God was going to give her peace,” he told the gathering, leaving many visibly emotional.
As night fell, mourners participated in a symbolic torch-lighting ceremony, creating a moving scene of glowing lights across the venue. The ceremony was followed by the release of white and red balloons into the sky, a tribute that many described as both heartbreaking and beautiful. Several attendees were seen wiping away tears as they reflected on the actress’s life and legacy.
