Telecel Ghana has unveiled Black Sherif as its brand partner for Project X, a campaign designed to connect with young consumers and promote its mobile money service, Telecel Cash.
Launched at the Kempinski Gold Coast City Hotel in Accra, the partnership will offer customers promotional experiences, discounts and rewards through the Telecel Play app.
A central feature is the “BlackoCode”, which the musician will share during online engagements to give customers access to benefits, including free transactions and other offers.
Telecel Ghana Chief Executive Officer, Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai, said the collaboration brings together the company’s youthful identity and Black Sherif’s personal story of resilience and authenticity.
She explained that the campaign would run over the coming year, with the musician announcing surprises through his social media platforms. Customers were encouraged to follow his updates for opportunities to participate.
Black Sherif said his appearances on TikTok, Snapchat and Instagram would feature promotional codes, gifts and rewards alongside his regular interactions with fans.
According to Telecel, the arrangement extends beyond a conventional ambassador role, with the artiste helping create experiences around its digital financial services.
Customers will need a Telecel Cash wallet and the Telecel Play app to take part in the campaign. The company also reminded users to keep their PINs, passwords and passcodes confidential, including from anyone claiming to represent Telecel.
Project X forms part of the operator’s efforts to strengthen its relationship with younger customers and encourage greater use of its mobile money services.
