The Ministry of Health has announced a nationwide mop-up recruitment exercise to fill 465 vacant nursing and pharmacy positions, with applications scheduled to open on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11 a.m. GMT.
A statement signed by the ministry’s spokesperson, Tony Goodman, said the exercise would replace previously selected applicants who failed or refused to report to their assigned districts and health facilities.
Of the available positions, 429 are for nursing professionals. Teaching hospitals have been allocated 266 slots, while facilities under the Christian Health Association of Ghana have 133. The remaining 30 nursing vacancies fall under the Ghana Health Service.
The ministry is also recruiting 36 pharmacy professionals, comprising five pharmacists and 31 pharmacy technicians.
Prospective applicants have been directed to submit their applications through the Ministry of Health recruitment portal.
