MTN Ghana has marked its 30th anniversary with a CEO Invitational Golf Tournament at the Achimota Golf Club, bringing together about 120 golfers from clubs across the country.
The tournament formed part of activities celebrating three decades of the telecommunications company’s operations in Ghana. It also provided an opportunity for MTN to recognise the business partners, corporate clients and other stakeholders who have contributed to the company’s growth over the years.
The event attracted corporate executives, business leaders and leading amateur golfers, who competed in an 18-hole challenge. Proceedings began with a ceremonial tee-off at 8 a.m., officially opening a day of competition, networking and anniversary celebrations.
Beyond the contest on the course, the tournament was designed to strengthen relationships between MTN Ghana and members of the corporate community. It offered participants an informal environment to interact, establish new business connections and deepen existing partnerships.
The competition also highlighted the similarities between golf and effective business leadership. Both require discipline, patience, strategic decision-making, integrity and resilience to overcome challenges and achieve results.
Participants competed for individual awards and other honors while joining MTN Ghana in reflecting on its development over the past 30 years.
Since commencing operations in Ghana, the company has expanded its services and customer base while building partnerships across different sectors of the economy.
The anniversary tournament therefore served not only as a sporting event but also as an expression of appreciation to customers, partners and stakeholders who have supported the MTN brand throughout its three decades in Ghana.
Through the CEO Invitational, MTN Ghana reaffirmed its commitment to using sport and corporate engagement to build relationships, promote collaboration and strengthen connections within the country’s business community.
