The Accra High Court has adjourned the hearing of a bail application filed on behalf of Salomey Bafoh, a suspect in the alleged “Ghana Jollof” investment scam, to Thursday, September 24, 2026.
The court granted the adjournment to allow the prosecution sufficient time to file a formal affidavit opposing the application.
Bafoh’s legal team is seeking her release on bail, maintaining that she is innocent of the allegations and must be presumed innocent until proven guilty. Her lawyers also argued that she has fixed places of residence and is prepared to cooperate fully with investigators and attend court whenever required.
State prosecutors, however, requested additional time to explain formally why the suspect should remain in custody while investigations into the alleged scheme and its broader financial network continue.
The case concerns allegations that investors were persuaded to commit funds to what was presented as a profitable food and hospitality franchise business. Authorities are investigating claims that numerous people suffered financial losses through the operation.
The matter has generated considerable public interest because of the reported number of victims and the alleged scale of the investment scheme.
The court is expected to consider the prosecution’s response and arguments from the defense when proceedings resume on September 24.
