The Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South West, Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, and members of his team have survived a road traffic accident in the Ashanti Region.
The crash occurred while the lawmaker and his team were travelling along the Manso Nkwanta–Kumasi road to carry out official constituency duties.
At the time of the accident, the team was reportedly working to assist students within the constituency to secure placements in senior high schools. The trip formed part of efforts to support students and families experiencing difficulties with the school-placement process.
News of the crash raised concern among constituents, supporters and members of the public. However, Mr. Dapaah later provided an update on social media, confirming that everyone involved had survived the incident.
According to the MP, all occupants of the vehicle were safe and in stable condition after receiving the required medical attention. They also underwent medical evaluations to determine whether anyone had sustained injuries requiring further treatment or observation.
Mr. Dapaah expressed appreciation to the first responders who arrived at the scene and assisted those involved in the accident. He also thanked the medical personnel who examined and cared for him and members of his team.
The legislator further acknowledged the messages, telephone calls and prayers received from constituents, friends, colleagues and well-wishers following reports of the crash.
Despite the frightening nature of the incident, the MP assured the public that there was no immediate cause for concern over the condition of those involved.
The precise cause of the accident was not immediately disclosed. Information about the number of occupants in the vehicle, the nature of any injuries sustained and the extent of damage to the vehicle was also unavailable.
The incident occurred while the MP’s team was engaged in an educational support exercise aimed at helping young people continue their studies at the senior high school level. Such placement interventions often involve working with families, schools and education authorities to address challenges affecting students who have not secured their preferred institutions or programs.
Mr. Dapaah’s confirmation that everyone was in stable condition brought relief to residents and supporters who had expressed concern after learning about the accident.
