Substitute Kwesi Asmah struck in the 86th minute to hand Accra Hearts of Oak a narrow 1-0 win over Vision FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema on Saturday afternoon.
The late breakthrough settled a closely contested Matchday 7 encounter in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League and secured a second successive victory for the Phobians.
Neither side found a way through during a tight opening half, with both defenses holding firm to keep the score level at the interval.
Hearts increased their attacking pressure after the break, making substitutions as they searched for a decisive goal. Their persistence eventually paid off when Vision FC failed to clear the ball effectively inside their penalty area.
Asmah reacted to the loose ball, firing home with his left foot to put the visitors ahead with four minutes of regulation time remaining. The 23-year-old’s intervention proved decisive as Hearts protected their lead through the closing stages.
The result also reversed the outcome of the teams’ meeting in the second half of last season, when Vision FC claimed a 1-0 victory.
Hearts moved onto 11 points, drawing level with Samartex on points in the race for second place and placing themselves among the top four.
For Vision FC, the defeat extended their winless league run to six matches, leaving them near the bottom of the standings.
