
The Accra Regional Police Command has assured residents and voters in the Ayawaso East Constituency of tight security ahead of the by-election scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
In a press release dated March 2, 2026, the Command emphasized that it is fully prepared to ensure a peaceful and orderly electoral process before, during, and after the polls.
According to the statement, adequate security personnel have been deployed to all designated polling stations and other strategic locations within the constituency to guarantee public safety and maintain transparency throughout the voting process.
The Police noted that officers will maintain a strong and visible presence across the constituency to deter any potential disturbances. Patrols will be conducted before, during, and after the election to prevent any acts that could disrupt public peace and security.
The Command also cautioned the public against engaging in violence, intimidation, misinformation, or any conduct that could undermine the credibility of the election. It warned that individuals who violate the law will be dealt with in accordance with Ghanaian law.
Residents and eligible voters have been urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activities. The Police further encouraged all voters to exercise their civic responsibility peacefully to ensure a smooth and credible electoral process.
