Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has visited the National Resolution Centre at the GNAT Hall in Accra to assess challenges confronting students and parents following the 2026 Computerized School Selection and Placement exercise.
The visit was aimed at giving the Minister first-hand information on the difficulties being experienced and ensuring that genuine concerns are resolved before schools reopen.
Interacting with affected parents and students, Mr Iddrisu acknowledged their concerns and assured them that legitimate cases would be addressed through the appropriate processes.
He said some of the cases brought before the Centre were genuine and required immediate attention.
The Minister explained that the Computerized School Selection and Placement System was introduced to promote fairness and transparency in the placement of students and ensure that available spaces are properly allocated.
He urged parents and students facing placement challenges to report to the National Resolution Centre for their cases to be assessed and resolved.
Mr Iddrisu assured parents that the government remains committed to ensuring that no student is disadvantaged because of challenges with the placement process.
He said the Ministry was working to resolve outstanding cases before the reopening of schools to enable affected students to report on time.
According to the Minister, a significant number of cases have already been resolved since the Centre began receiving complaints, while officials continue to work on the remaining cases.
He commended staff at the Centre for their efforts and assured the public that the Ministry would continue to monitor the situation and engage stakeholders to address outstanding concerns.
The visit followed an earlier engagement by the Minister at the Accra College of Education, where he interacted with candidates after the recent teacher licensure examinations.
