
Police have arrested four men suspected of being part of a robbery syndicate allegedly involved in the attack on a gold dealer at Wassa Akropong in the Western Region.
The suspects have been identified as Kwabena Amuah, 25, alias IK; Mohammed Nasir, 28, alias Mallam; Samuel Agyei, 24, alias Okese 1; and Kofi Gyasi, 26, alias Brefo.
According to the police, the four are believed to be members of a robbery syndicate operating in the area.
Investigators said the suspects allegedly attacked the gold dealer and made away with GH¢24,000 in cash and gold weighing seven pounds and six matches, valued at approximately GH¢94.53 million.
The robbers also reportedly stole an iPhone XR and a Tecno Spark 12 mobile phone during the attack.
The four suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations as the police work to uncover further details surrounding the robbery and identify other possible members of the syndicate.
