Four people, including a one-and-a-half-year-old baby, sustained serious injuries in a three-vehicle crash at the Sofoline Interchange flyover in Kumasi on Tuesday morning, October 6, 2026.
According to Asaase Radio, a commercial minibus travelling from Goaso to Kejetia reportedly developed brake failure while descending the flyover and collided with a Toyota Corolla and a motorized tricycle, popularly known as a Pragia.
All four injured people were occupants of the tricycle, including its driver and the baby. Passersby and other motorists helped transport them to the Suntreso Government Hospital for emergency treatment.
The collision caused extensive damage to the three vehicles, with the wreckage obstructing part of the road. Traffic temporarily built up along the busy Sofoline–Abuakwa stretch as motorists struggled to move past the scene.
Officers from the Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department arrived shortly afterwards to manage traffic and facilitate the removal of the damaged vehicles.
