The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has completed the clearing of the right-of-way for the proposed Accra-Kumasi Expressway, finishing the task ahead of schedule.
GAF engineers cleared 175.6 kilometres of the project corridor in 19 weeks, beating the original 20-week timeline set for the exercise.
The work was undertaken with support from the Ministries of Defence, Finance, and Roads and Highways as part of preparations for the next phase of the major road project.
According to the GAF, its engineers worked closely with officials from the three ministries to clear and open up the designated corridor, paving the way for subsequent construction activities.
The Armed Forces said the achievement demonstrates its growing capacity in engineering and its increasing contribution to national infrastructure development.
The GAF described the completion as a demonstration of its commitment to delivering on assignments efficiently and ahead of schedule.
It said its engineers remain focused on maintaining high standards of professionalism and excellence while supporting major national development projects.
The completion of the corridor clearing marks an important early step towards the development of the proposed Accra-Kumasi Expressway, one of the country’s major planned road infrastructure projects.
