The Ghana Armed Forces has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 enlistment exercise for commissioned officers, creating opportunities for qualified Ghanaian graduates and professionals to pursue careers in the military.
Successful applicants will be admitted to the Ghana Military Academy for training across several operational, technical and specialized branches of the Armed Forces.
Available fields include Infantry, Armor, Artillery, Signals, Information Systems and Cyber Security, Engineering and other emerging technology-related areas. Opportunities are also available for qualified applicants with backgrounds in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Engineering.
Application e-vouchers will go on sale for GH¢200 at designated Ghana Post offices nationwide from Thursday, September 3, 2026.
The official online application portal will open on Friday, September 4, while applicants will have until Wednesday, September 23, 2026, to complete and submit their applications.
Prospective candidates have been advised to carefully review all eligibility requirements before purchasing an application voucher.
Applicants must be Ghanaian citizens of good character and should not be bonded to any institution or organization. Candidates applying for the Regular Cadet course must also be unmarried.
They must be between 18 and 26 years old by February 18, 2027.
Male applicants are required to have a minimum height of 1.68 meters, equivalent to five feet six inches, while female candidates must be at least 1.60 meters, or five feet two inches tall.
Higher height requirements apply to applicants seeking admission into Military Police units. Male candidates must be at least 1.75 meters, equivalent to five feet nine inches, while female applicants must have a minimum height of 1.70 meters, or five feet seven inches.
Academically, applicants must hold a recognized first degree in a relevant field, with a classification not lower than Second Class Lower.
Candidates must also possess six credits at the Basic Education Certificate Examination level, including Core English, Mathematics and Science. Required grades should fall between Grades 1 and 6.
At the senior high school level, applicants must have six credits, including English, Mathematics and Integrated Science. The accepted grades are A1 to C6 for WASSCE holders and A to D for SSSCE candidates.
Working proficiency in an international language such as French, Spanish, Arabic, German, Chinese or Swahili will be considered an added advantage during the selection process.
The Armed Forces High Command has cautioned prospective applicants and their families against dealing with people who claim to be recruitment agents or middlemen.
It stressed that the military does not engage third parties to conduct recruitment and does not demand unofficial payments to secure places for applicants.
Members of the public have therefore been advised not to pay money to individuals promising to influence the selection process. Applicants should rely exclusively on official Ghana Armed Forces announcements, publications and verified online platforms for recruitment information.

The Ghana Armed Forces urged applicants to complete their forms personally, provide accurate information and submit all required documents before the September 23 deadline.
