The incident happened shortly before 5 a.m. on Gun Hill Road, where the 73-year-old man had accompanied his 61-year-old wife as she waited for a bus to work.
Their daughter, Emelia Sabah, said her father walked her mother to the bus stop every weekday morning to help ensure she travelled safely.

The attackers fled with the woman’s purse, which police said contained her medication, a debit card and $100 in cash.
