
Evans Adanya, a Ghanaian MBA student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, has been named one of the winners of the prestigious Stanford Impact Leader (SIL) Prize, earning recognition for his commitment to social impact and leadership.
Adanya is among only four students in the MBA Class of 2026 selected for the award, which includes a $20,000 grant designed to support graduates transitioning into careers focused on creating meaningful social and economic impact.
A qualified Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in infrastructure finance, Adanya has built a career around supporting critical development projects across Africa. Before enrolling at Stanford, he worked at Genser Energy Ghana, where he helped finance major energy infrastructure projects, including a significant natural gas pipeline initiative.
He also served as an Investment Associate at Africa50, contributing to large-scale terrestrial fiber connectivity projects aimed at expanding digital infrastructure and improving access across the continent.
At Stanford, Adanya was recognized not only for his academic performance but also for his active involvement in leadership and impact-focused initiatives within the business school community. He served as Portfolio Operations Lead for the Impact Fund and also held the role of Chief Financial Officer for the Private Equity Club.
Adanya holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration from the University of Ghana and is expected to return to Africa after graduation to focus on infrastructure financing and development.
According to his stated post-graduation plans, he aims to launch an impact investment fund dedicated to supporting infrastructure and economic growth projects across the continent, with a focus on driving long-term development and improving access to essential services.
