Inter Milan are reportedly monitoring Fulham defender Calvin Bassey as the Italian club considers strengthening its defensive options.
The 26-year-old Nigerian international has attracted attention following a series of strong performances in the Premier League. Inter have reportedly tracked him across several transfer windows and remain impressed by his physical strength, athleticism and versatility.
Bassey can operate as a central defender or left-back, making him a potential fit for Inter’s flexible defensive system. His experience in the Premier League, Eredivisie and Scottish Premiership has also demonstrated his ability to compete in different tactical environments.
However, Fulham are unlikely to consider allowing the defender to leave during the season. The London club regards Bassey as an essential member of its defensive unit and remains determined to retain him for the remainder of the campaign.
His existing contract runs until 2027 and includes an option for an additional year, leaving Fulham under no immediate financial or contractual pressure to sell.
Although Bassey is reportedly willing to assess his options if an attractive offer from a leading European club arrives, he remains happy in London and settled in manager Marco Silva’s squad.
Inter or any other interested club would therefore need to present a substantial offer to persuade Fulham to enter negotiations.
A transfer appears more likely to be considered during the summer window, when Fulham would have more time to identify a replacement and reorganize their defense. Until then, the Cottagers are expected to resist any attempt to remove Bassey from their squad midway through the season.
