Jérémy Doku has committed his long-term future to Manchester City after signing a new five-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2031.
The 24-year-old Belgian winger joined City from French side Rennes in 2023 in a transfer reportedly worth about £55 million. Since then, he has developed into one of the Premier League’s most dangerous wide attackers, gaining recognition for his pace, dribbling and ability to create scoring opportunities.
Doku becomes the fourth first-team player to sign a long-term contract with City this summer, following new agreements for Phil Foden, Joško Gvardiol and Abdukodir Khusanov.
The extension comes as Manchester City begin a new chapter under Enzo Maresca, who replaced Pep Guardiola as manager following the Spaniard’s departure.
Doku said Maresca’s football philosophy played an important role in his decision to remain with the club. The Belgium international expressed excitement about working under the Italian and continuing his development at the Etihad.
“With Enzo here now, I am really excited about the new season. His style of football is the kind we love, so that’s exciting for the players,” Doku said.
City’s Director of Football, Hugo Viana, welcomed the agreement and praised the winger’s professionalism and attitude. He described Doku’s approach as “first class,” adding that the Belgian possesses the qualities City want from a modern winger.
Since moving to Manchester, Doku has registered 22 goals and 34 assists in 131 appearances across all competitions.
He has also helped the club secure five trophies, with his collection including the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
Doku has continued to make an impact on the international stage. He earned his 48th senior appearance for Belgium during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Red Devils reached the quarter-finals.
Securing the winger’s future represents another major boost for Manchester City as Maresca prepares the squad for the 2026/27 season. City are scheduled to begin their Premier League campaign on August 21.
