At 80, Joyce Rosalind Aryee remains a remarkable symbol of service, faith, and leadership in Ghana. Though she remarks with a smile that she does not feel her age, her life reflects decades of purposeful contribution, resilience, and national impact.
Her journey began at Achimota School and later at the University of Ghana, where she demonstrated early leadership grounded in responsibility and commitment. This foundation propelled her into public service during the era of Jerry John Rawlings, where she served in the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) as Secretary of Information and later held key national roles during a period of political transition.
Despite the complexities of that era, she played a role in Ghana’s return to constitutional governance. She later made history as the first woman to serve as Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, where she provided leadership for a decade and contributed significantly to the country’s mining sector.
Deeply rooted in her Christian faith, Joyce Rosalind Aryee attributes her strength and resilience to her relationship with God, often describing her “child’s heart” as a defining source of her character. Her commitment to ministry led to the establishment of the Salt and Light Ministry Ghana, through which she continues to mentor and inspire individuals.
Even at 80, she remains actively engaged in leadership and service, emphasizing that retirement is not part of her vision. She continues to dedicate her time and energy to inspiring others, demonstrating that a life of purpose and impact transcends age.
