Ghanaian midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh marked his first league start of the season with a goal and an assist as VfL Osnabrück defeated Greuther Fürth 3–0 in Germany’s Bundesliga 2.
The 30-year-old delivered a decisive first-half performance at Stadion an der Bremer Brücke, helping the hosts take control with two goals in quick succession.
Kyereh opened the scoring in the 37th minute with a composed finish before setting up Robin Meißner to double Osnabrück’s advantage just two minutes later.
The midfielder played 67 minutes and was named Man of the Match, earning an 8.4 match rating for his contribution to the convincing victory.
The display marked another encouraging step in Kyereh’s return to regular football following a prolonged spell disrupted by serious knee injuries. He joined Osnabrück on a free transfer from SC Freiburg in August 2026, seeking to rebuild his career after spending much of the previous three years sidelined.
His move reunited him with head coach Timo Schultz, who previously worked with him during his successful spell at FC St. Pauli.
That familiar partnership appears to be helping the Ghana international regain his rhythm. Kyereh has now contributed two goals and one assist in eight appearances this season.
For a player whose progress was interrupted by lengthy rehabilitation, his performance against Greuther Fürth offered a promising reminder of the creativity and attacking quality he can bring to both club and country.
