Liverpool to Host Chelsea as Carabao Cup Fourth-Round Draw Produces Major Clashes

Carabao Cup fourth-round draw

Liverpool will host Chelsea at Anfield in the standout fixture of the 2026/27 Carabao Cup fourth round.

The heavyweight encounter will see Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso return to the stadium where he enjoyed a successful playing career. The former Liverpool midfielder made 210 appearances for the club and helped the Reds win the UEFA Champions League in 2005.

Liverpool advanced to the last 16 after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 3-1, while Chelsea booked their place with an entertaining 6-3 victory over Leeds United.

Premier League champions Arsenal have been handed an away tie against Fleetwood Town, the lowest-ranked side remaining in the competition.

Fleetwood reached the fourth round for the first time in the club’s history after securing a surprise 1-0 victory over Championship side Sheffield United.

Defending champions Manchester City must first overcome Norwich City in their delayed third-round fixture. The winners will host Brighton and Hove Albion, who staged a dramatic comeback to eliminate Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Everton will welcome Newcastle United in another all-Premier League encounter, while Sunderland have been drawn at home against Brentford.

Craven Cottage will host a London derby between Fulham and Crystal Palace, with Bournemouth welcoming Aston Villa to the Vitality Stadium.

Bradford City will face Peterborough United in a tie that guarantees at least one League One club a place in the quarter-finals.

The full fourth-round draw is:

  • Fleetwood Town vs Arsenal
  • Manchester City or Norwich City vs Brighton and Hove Albion
  • Everton vs Newcastle United
  • Sunderland vs Brentford
  • Liverpool vs Chelsea
  • Bradford City vs Peterborough United
  • Fulham vs Crystal Palace
  • Bournemouth vs Aston Villa

The fourth-round matches are scheduled to be played during the week beginning October 26, 2026, with confirmed dates and kick-off times to be announced later.
