Nana Akua Addo’s Lawyers Urge Public to Stop Sharing Family Dispute Videos

Lawyers for Ghanaian actress and fashion personality Nana Akua Addo have appealed to media organisations and social media users to stop circulating videos linked to an alleged domestic dispute involving her family, citing privacy concerns and the welfare of her minor children.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, Nkrabeah & Associates said the footage had been shared without their client’s knowledge or consent. The legal team, led by Fafa Fianu, described its circulation as a serious intrusion into her private life.

The firm urged media outlets to exercise restraint, particularly because children were involved. It warned that further publication could compound the emotional and psychological distress experienced by the family.

According to the lawyers, the matter is before the courts and is also being handled by the appropriate state authorities. They expressed confidence in the justice system and called for the legal process to be respected.

The appeal followed widespread online discussion after videos appeared to show Addo receiving medical attention for facial injuries, alongside separate recordings of family confrontations. The footage prompted allegations of domestic abuse involving her estranged husband, Harold Duodu Norman.

Before the lawyers’ statement, Addo had personally appealed to a blogger to remove the material, writing: “Please take it down. For my daughters’ sake, please take it down.”

Norman’s lawyers, FBA Law Consult, have disputed the allegations. In a separate statement, they claimed that the injuries shown were self-inflicted or connected to earlier disputes and alleged that the recordings were being used to influence public opinion. These remain claims by his legal representatives, rather than established findings.

Reports indicate that the Ghana Police Service’s Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit is investigating the matter. The couple are also involved in an ongoing civil case.

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has meanwhile condemned domestic violence, stressing that provocation does not justify abuse and that anyone found responsible must be held accountable under the law.
