The Ghana Police Service has arrested 41 people during an intelligence-led operation targeting suspected criminal activities and narcotics networks at Lapaz and Chantan in Accra.
The operation, conducted by the Special Operations Team at about noon on Thursday, October 15, 2026, resulted in the arrest of 35 males and six females.
Officers also recovered large quantities of dried leaves suspected to be narcotic substances. The material is undergoing forensic testing to establish its composition.
According to the police, all 41 suspects remain in custody and are assisting with investigations. Detectives are working to establish ownership of the seized substances and identify possible links to supply and distribution networks across Greater Accra.
The police said the exercise formed part of efforts to disrupt suspected criminal networks operating within the two communities.
The service reiterated its commitment to pursuing prosecution against anyone found culpable once investigations are completed.
