The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two brothers in connection with the fatal shooting of a 54-year-old car dealer and the injury of his wife at Beach Drive Estate in Tuba, near Weija.
The suspects, identified as Adams Adder Almeida and Bala Bilyon, were arrested following investigations into the attack, which occurred on August 6, 2026.
According to the Ghana Police Service, officers responding to the incident found the victim, Mohammed Rahman, outside his apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
His 53-year-old wife, Christiana Fosu, also sustained serious injuries during the shooting. She is currently receiving medical treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Police said Adams Adder Almeida allegedly admitted during interrogation that he fired the shots. He reportedly claimed that he had suffered emotional and mental distress because Rahman repeatedly insulted him by calling him “lazy and useless.”
Investigators said the suspect subsequently led the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team and officers from the Accra Regional Police Command to his brother’s room.
A pistol believed to have been used in the attack was reportedly recovered from beneath a wall drop in the room.
Police investigations established that Bala Bilyon worked with the deceased and shared a room with Adams. He was taken into custody for further questioning over his alleged connection to the case.
Investigators are also searching for a third person identified only as Gideon, who is suspected of supplying Adams with the firearm allegedly used in the shooting.
The Ghana Police Service said investigations remain ongoing as officers work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the attack and determine the roles played by each suspect.
The two brothers are expected to be processed for court as the police prepare the case for formal prosecution. The allegations against them have not yet been proven in court.
