
The Airport District Police Command in the Ashanti Region is investigating an alleged child-stealing incident involving two pupils of Happy Royal International School, while reports that 11 schoolchildren have been kidnapped remain unconfirmed.
District Commander Superintendent Kingsley Kawodie said the case under investigation was reported on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in the Manhyia North Constituency. He clarified that police were handling an alleged child-stealing case involving two children.
The school, located in the Asokore Mampong Municipality, is awaiting further information from investigators.
Headmaster Francis Koomson said he learned of the incident at about 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, by which time a report had already been made to police.
“We don’t have first-hand information now, but we are relying on the Police for updates,” he said.
Koomson urged parents, pupils and the public to remain vigilant, particularly when travelling in the early hours, describing the incident as a reminder to take personal safety seriously.
