Police Probe Deaths of Couple After Alleged Shooting at Tosen

Man allegedly shoots wife dead

Police have begun investigations into the deaths of a married couple at Tosen, near Adum-Boso in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.

The incident occurred on Saturday, October 10, 2026, when a man allegedly shot his wife before taking his own life.

A commercial motorcycle rider identified as Emmanuel said he was passing through the community when he heard two gunshots. He initially associated the sounds with a ceremony taking place nearby and did not immediately suspect that anyone had been harmed.

He said the situation became clearer moments later when two children ran out of a house calling for help. According to his account, the children said their father had shot their mother.

Emmanuel then went to the local police station to report the incident, prompting officers to visit the scene.

The bodies were subsequently transported to a mortuary for preservation and autopsy as part of the investigation.

The deaths have left residents distressed, with the circumstances preceding the incident still unclear. The report did not identify the couple or establish what happened inside the home before the gunshots were heard.

Police are continuing their inquiries to determine the full sequence of events.
