The Nkwanta South Police Command has arrested Osman Imoro, a 37-year-old fetish priest, in connection with the disappearance and alleged murder of Daniel Bijadom, a contractor who went missing nearly three years ago.
Bijadom, 35, had been reported missing from his residence since October 16, 2023. Investigations into the case reportedly led to the discovery of human remains believed to be his in a septic pit at Tuobodom, a suburb of Nkwanta in the Oti Region.
The discovery has become a key focus of police inquiries as investigators seek to establish what happened to the contractor following his disappearance. The information provided does not indicate whether forensic examinations have formally confirmed the identity of the remains.
Imoro was apprehended on October 15, 2026, with assistance from community surveillance members. They secured the suspect and handed him over to law enforcement, allowing police to pursue further investigations into his alleged connection to the case.
The suspect remains in police custody as officers work to establish the circumstances surrounding Bijadom’s disappearance and suspected death. Details of a possible motive and the evidence linking Imoro to the alleged crime have not been provided.
Police inquiries are continuing ahead of any formal prosecution. Imoro’s arrest does not establish guilt, and the allegations against him remain subject to investigation and the legal process.
