Raymond Archer has been confirmed as the substantive Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), effective October 27, ending his tenure as acting head of the state agency.
The appointment was confirmed by EOCO Board Chairman Daniel Domelevo, formalising Mr Archer’s leadership after serving in an acting capacity since August 2025.
A former investigative journalist, Archer succeeded Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah and is expected to spearhead the Office’s efforts to combat economic and organised crime, including money laundering and human trafficking.
His leadership of EOCO has attracted mixed reactions, with some commending his approach to the agency’s work, while others have criticised what they describe as heavy-handedness in its operations.
