Real Madrid have reportedly blocked all potential loan moves for Brazilian forward Endrick, deciding to keep the 20-year-old at the Santiago Bernabéu for the upcoming season.
The decision ends weeks of speculation about the striker’s immediate future after several major European clubs expressed interest in signing him temporarily. Manchester United, Aston Villa and AS Roma were among the teams reportedly exploring possible loan agreements.
However, newly appointed Real Madrid manager José Mourinho intervened to prevent Endrick’s departure after being impressed by the youngster’s attitude, work ethic and performances during pre-season.
Mourinho reportedly believes Endrick can contribute immediately rather than continuing his development away from the Spanish capital. Although the Brazilian is primarily a center-forward, the manager also views him as a possible option on the right side of the attack.
That versatility could prove important for Real Madrid, whose attacking play has often been strongest on the left. Deploying Endrick from the right would give Mourinho another way to balance the forward line while allowing the Brazilian to use his pace, strength and direct running.
Endrick strengthened his case for a first-team role during the club’s pre-season preparations. His performance against Fiorentina, where he started and scored, reportedly convinced the coaching staff that he was ready to compete for opportunities at senior level.
Club president Florentino Pérez is said to fully support Mourinho’s decision. Real Madrid invested heavily in Endrick and remain determined to manage his development closely rather than risk sending him to an environment where the club would have less control over his playing time and tactical education.
The Spanish giants also believe that training alongside experienced players and competing at the highest level could accelerate the forward’s progress, even if he is not guaranteed a regular starting position.
Endrick will face intense competition in Madrid’s attack, particularly from Kylian Mbappé and new signing Carlos Espí. However, the Brazilian has reportedly accepted Mourinho’s challenge and is prepared to fight for his place.
His ability to play across multiple attacking positions could improve his chances of receiving minutes in domestic competitions and European matches. Injuries, squad rotation and tactical changes throughout the season could also create opportunities for him.
A loan move has not been completely ruled out in the longer term. Endrick’s situation could reportedly be reviewed during the winter transfer window if he receives very limited playing time during the opening months of the campaign.
For now, Real Madrid’s position is firm. The club believes Endrick has shown enough during pre-season to remain with the first-team squad and compete for a role under Mourinho.
The decision represents a major vote of confidence in the Brazilian international, who will now have the opportunity to prove that he can contribute alongside some of world football’s leading attackers at the Santiago Bernabéu.
