Real Madrid Strike Three Late Goals to Beat Roma 4–3

Real Madrid completed a stunning 4-3

Real Madrid produced a dramatic late comeback to defeat AS Roma 4–3 at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday, October 14, overturning a two-goal deficit in their UEFA Champions League encounter.

José Mourinho’s side trailed 3–1 deep into the second half before goals from Carlos Espí, Endrick and Antonio Rüdiger transformed the contest and secured all three points.

Roma opened the scoring after 20 minutes through a deflected Marten de Roon effort, but Kylian Mbappé equalised five minutes later with a long-range strike. The teams went into the interval level at 1–1.

Donyell Malen then scored twice early in the second half to put the hosts firmly in control. Madrid thought they had reduced the deficit through Mbappé, only for his effort to be ruled out for offside.

The visitors finally broke through in the 83rd minute when Espí converted a rebound following an Endrick header. Endrick subsequently headed home the equaliser before Rüdiger’s acrobatic finish completed the turnaround.

Arda Güler’s corner deliveries were central to all three late goals as Madrid claimed their second Champions League victory of the campaign.

Madrid now turn their attention to La Liga, where they host Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday, October 18, before welcoming RB Leipzig in Europe on October 21.
