Student hit by stray bullet

A 19-year-old senior high school student has been hospitalized after being struck by a stray bullet during a police operation at Danchira.

The victim, identified as Nii Lamptey, was injured while police attempted to disperse a group of residents who had gathered amid a demolition exercise on a 700-acre parcel of land. According to eyewitness accounts, tensions escalated when some individuals reportedly attacked the Danchira Police Station, prompting a response from law enforcement officers.

In the course of efforts to control the situation, the student was caught in the chaos and was hit by a bullet.

He is currently receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre.

Authorities are yet to provide detailed information regarding the exact circumstances that led to the shooting, as investigations continue.
