The University of Ghana has directed undergraduate applicants for the 2026/2027 academic year to review their information on the institution’s admissions portal following the release of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination results.
Prospective students have been advised to log back into the portal and confirm that all personal and examination details submitted during the application process are accurate.
The university said applicants should pay particular attention to their full names and dates of birth. They must also verify their WASSCE index numbers, examination months and examination years.
Errors in these details could affect the university’s ability to match applicants with their examination results or process their applications correctly.
Applicants who initially applied as awaiting-results candidates have also been encouraged to reconsider their program selections now that their final grades are available.
The university advised candidates to study the cut-off aggregates used during the previous admissions cycle and make realistic choices based on their results. Applicants seeking highly competitive programs may need to revise their selections if their aggregates fall outside the previous entry range.
The earlier cut-off points are intended only as a guide and do not guarantee admission, as requirements may change depending on the number and performance of applicants.
The University of Ghana also announced that applications remain open to candidates who have received their 2026 WASSCE results but have not yet submitted admission forms.
Applicants must complete their submissions and make all necessary changes before the portal closes at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
The university’s official admissions schedule lists September 8 as the closing date for general Ghanaian undergraduate applications, except for selected College of Health Sciences programs that were subject to earlier application and entrance-examination arrangements.
Applicants can revisit their forms through the University of Ghana admissions portal. The university’s admissions guidance confirms that candidates may make corrections after submission while the portal remains open, particularly to their biographical information and WASSCE examination records.
Prospective students have been urged not to wait until the final hours, as incomplete submissions or inaccurate information could delay or affect the processing of their applications.
