Water supply has been restored to several communities in western Accra following the completion of repairs on a damaged 500mm main pipeline by Ghana Water Ltd.
The pipeline was damaged during excavation works carried out by AWERCO Construction Ltd, disrupting water supply and leaving residents in several communities without their normal service.
Ghana Water Ltd said its engineers and technical teams worked continuously to repair the damaged section and restore water to the affected areas.
Communities that experienced the disruption included Mallam, Darkuman, Kaneshie, Mataheko, Korle Bu, Mamprobi, Dansoman Township and Chorkor, as well as surrounding areas.
The company, however, cautioned that some customers may continue to experience low water pressure or intermittent flow as the distribution network gradually returns to normal.
Ghana Water Ltd has appealed to affected residents to remain patient and allow some time for water pressure to stabilise across the network.
The company also thanked customers for their patience and cooperation throughout the disruption and acknowledged the support of other stakeholders who contributed to the successful completion of the repairs.
Customers who continue to experience difficulties with their water supply have been encouraged to report the problem through Ghana Water Ltd’s official communication channels.
