John Boadu Seeks Kufuor’s Guidance, Pledges United NPP Ahead of 2028

John Boadu

New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman John Boadu has pledged to strengthen grassroots organization and reconcile members as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.

Boadu reaffirmed the commitment when he led the newly elected national executives on a courtesy visit to former President John Agyekum Kufuor. The delegation formally introduced the new leadership and sought his advice on the party’s rebuilding efforts.

In a Facebook post on October 8, Boadu described Kufuor’s experience and knowledge of the NPP’s traditions as valuable resources for the incoming executives. He assured the former President that the leadership would work to strengthen unity and improve the party’s structures in pursuit of electoral victory.

Boadu won the chairmanship with 2,888 votes at the National Delegates Conference at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. Following his election, he urged unsuccessful aspirants to contribute their ideas and experience to the party’s renewal.

“There must be no winners and losers. Only one NPP united around one purpose,” he said.

His priorities include closer cooperation with regional and constituency executives, the parliamentary caucus, external branches and flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. He also intends to strengthen constituency finances and organization.

Boadu has promised broader engagement with voluntary groups, traditional media and social media practitioners, alongside opportunities for youth leadership in tertiary institutions.

He stressed that returning to power would require sustained organization, credible leadership and public trust, urging members to place service to the party above personal ambitions.
