Nurideen Kobina Essah has appealed to National Democratic Congress aspirants, delegates and supporters to protect party unity as they prepare for constituency elections.
Essah, who is seeking to become the party’s Central Regional Communications Officer, made the appeal in a statement ahead of polls reported to be scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026. He commended the peaceful campaigning so far and urged members to maintain that conduct through election day.
“Our ambition to lead must never be greater than our commitment to the party,” he said.
He stressed that protecting the NDC’s stability and public image was a collective duty, calling on contestants and their supporters to show mutual respect and resolve disagreements peacefully.
Essah also urged election officials to demonstrate transparency, impartiality and accountability, explaining that a credible process would strengthen delegates’ confidence in the party’s internal democracy.
He encouraged delegates to choose leaders based on competence, commitment and their ability to promote unity and development. Regardless of the outcome, he urged members to remain together and work towards strengthening the party after the elections.
