Arsenal have finally been crowned Premier League champions after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
The result sparked celebrations across north London as City’s slip means they can no longer catch Arsenal at the top of the table heading into the final weekend of the season.
Bournemouth took a surprise lead in the first half through a brilliant curling strike from Eli Kroupi Jr, leaving City chasing the game for most of the night. Although Erling Haaland found a late equaliser deep into stoppage time, it was not enough to keep the title race alive.
Arsenal now sit four points clear at the summit, making them mathematically unreachable with just one game remaining.
For Arsenal supporters, it is a moment they have waited years to celebrate. After finishing as runners-up for three consecutive seasons, Mikel Arteta and his players have finally delivered the club’s 14th league title.
The Gunners will wrap up their league campaign away to Crystal Palace on May 24 before turning their attention to the UEFA Champions League final in Budapest against Paris Saint-Germain.
