England sealed top spot in Group L and booked their place in the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Panama on Saturday.
Jude Bellingham broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute before captain Harry Kane doubled England’s advantage five minutes later to secure all three points and cap off an impressive group-stage campaign. Kane’s goal also saw him become England’s all-time leading scorer in FIFA World Cup history.

The Three Lions finished the group unbeaten, collecting seven points from three matches after defeating Croatia 4-2, drawing 0-0 with Ghana, and overcoming Panama 2-0.
England’s commanding performances throughout the group stage have strengthened belief that Thomas Tuchel’s side can mount a serious challenge for the World Cup title. With momentum on their side, the Three Lions now turn their attention to the Round of 32, where they will look to continue their pursuit of a first World Cup triumph since 1966.
