Uganda Airlines is scheduled to begin flights between Entebbe and Accra on October 27, 2026, expanding its West African network and opening a new connection between Ghana and Uganda.
The carrier plans to operate four services weekly using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The route is expected to serve business travelers, tourists, students and passengers travelling between the two regions.
Ahead of the launch, a delegation from Uganda National Airlines Company Limited met Ghana’s Transport Minister, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, to formally announce the airline’s entry into the market.
The delegation was led by Deo Nyanzi, the airline’s Manager for Government Relations and Routes Coordination. Welcoming the development, Nikpe emphasized the importance of safe, convenient and affordable air travel between African countries.
Uganda Airlines has also begun engaging Ghanaian travel agents, tour operators and business stakeholders through roadshows and workshops. These activities are intended to introduce the route and promote Uganda’s tourism and commercial opportunities.
According to the airline, the service could strengthen trade, investment and tourism while improving access to markets in East Africa. It also sees opportunities for transporting agricultural produce and other goods between the two countries.
A Ghana–Uganda Trade and Business Forum is scheduled for October 28 at the Accra Marriott Hotel, following the inaugural flight.
Organized with tourism, diplomatic and investment partners, the forum will bring together officials, business leaders, exporters and investors to explore partnerships arising from the new air connection.
The airline says the Accra service forms part of its wider effort to connect African markets and support commercial exchanges under the African Continental Free Trade Area.
