Veteran Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has announced the engagement of her daughter, Meraiah Ekeinde.
The actress shared the joyful family news with her followers on Instagram in mid-August 2026, posting a video from the engagement celebration.
“Have you heard? My twinnie is engaged! I guess we have a wedding to plan! Congratulations to the lovebirds,” Omotola wrote.
Meraiah had announced the engagement on her own social-media page several days earlier. She shared images marking the occasion and accompanied them with the brief caption, “New chapter.”
The 26-year-old bride-to-be, who is affectionately known as Mimi, is a fashion and lifestyle personality who works as an apparel product developer.
Omotola frequently refers to Meraiah as her “twinnie” because of the strong physical resemblance between them. The actress’s latest post reflected her excitement about preparing for another important stage in her daughter’s life.
Although the family has largely kept the identity and personal details of Meraiah’s fiancé private, the announcement attracted numerous congratulatory messages from fans, entertainment personalities and family friends.
Many social-media users celebrated the couple and wished them a happy marriage. Others shared their excitement over Omotola’s transition into the role of mother of the bride.
The engagement represents another major milestone for the Jalade-Ekeinde family. Omotola has been married to pilot Captain Matthew Ekeinde since 1996, and the couple marked their 30th wedding anniversary earlier in 2026.
Their enduring marriage has frequently attracted public attention within Nigeria’s entertainment industry. The couple have four children: Princess, Matthew Jr., popularly known as Captain E, Meraiah and Michael.
Omotola remains one of Nollywood’s most prominent figures, with a career spanning acting, filmmaking, music and humanitarian work. Despite her public profile, she has often used social media to celebrate her family’s personal achievements and important occasions.
No official wedding date or details about the ceremony had been announced at the time of the engagement news. For now, the family appears focused on celebrating the couple as preparations for the wedding begin.
