Tanzanian Bongo Flava singer Zuchu has announced her separation and ongoing divorce from her husband and record label boss, Diamond Platnumz, bringing an end to one of East Africa’s most closely followed celebrity relationships.
The singer, whose real name is Zuhura Othman Soud, shared the news with her fans through her Instagram Stories on Sunday, July 12, 2026, revealing that the decision was made after a difficult period in their relationship.
Zuchu Says She Has Chosen Herself
In her emotional statement, Zuchu confirmed that she and Diamond Platnumz, whose real name is Naseeb Abdul, are no longer together and have begun the divorce process.
“My husband and I are now separated and going through a divorce. I announce this with a heavy heart. After six years of being together, I’ve finally decided to choose myself,” she wrote.
Although she did not disclose the specific reason behind the separation, Zuchu indicated that both partners made efforts to save their marriage.
She explained that they had tried to overcome their challenges but accepted that their future together was no longer aligned.
“We tried, but Allah has His own plans, and I have no choice but to accept them,” she said.
