The Ladies Section of Achimota Golf Club has raised GH¢96,960.44 to support the purchase of breast cancer equipment for the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The funds were mobilised through the 2026 Ocean Network Express (ONE) Pink Cup Tournament, held at the club in Accra on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
Organized under the leadership of Lady Captain Kous Louanges Mang, the tournament brought together golfers and corporate partners to support breast cancer care and raise awareness of the disease.
This year’s event exceeded its golfer participation target and generated more than twice the financial contribution recorded in the previous edition, marking a significant improvement in the tournament’s fundraising efforts.
Ocean Network Express served as the title sponsor, with additional support from CalBank PLC, Zenith Bank Ghana and other corporate partners.
The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, attended as the Special Guest of Honor, lending her support to breast cancer awareness and improved access to healthcare.
Funds were raised through player registration fees and special activities on the golf course, combining sporting competition with charitable giving.
The Pink Cup initiative has traditionally supported the Breast Cancer Unit at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital while also providing financial assistance to cancer patients at Achimota Hospital who struggle to afford treatment.
The GH¢96,960.44 raised this year is intended to help Korle Bu acquire equipment for breast cancer care, extending the tournament’s contribution beyond awareness to practical support for healthcare delivery.
