
A 40-year-old man, Samuel Bills Acquah, has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service under the Central Regional Command for allegedly assaulting a 30-year-old woman in Cape Coast.
The suspect was reportedly captured in a viral video physically attacking the woman, who is said to be the mother of his child, at Bakano, a suburb of Cape Coast. The incident gained public attention after the footage circulated widely, prompting swift police intervention.
According to a statement from the police, a report was received on March 27 at approximately 9:30 p.m., indicating that the suspect had assaulted the victim. Officers subsequently proceeded to the scene, where he was arrested.
Samuel Bills Acquah is currently in police custody assisting with ongoing investigations. Authorities have confirmed that he is expected to be arraigned before court on March 30, 2026.
The Public Affairs Unit noted that the arrest forms part of continued efforts by the Ghana Police Service to maintain law and order and address cases of violence within the region.
