Ghana’s Black Maidens have arrived in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of their opening match at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Head coach Nana Joe Adarkwa and his 21-player squad moved to the tournament host city after completing a two-week training camp in Casablanca, where preparations focused on sharpening the team for the competition.
The Maidens played two international friendlies during the camp, losing 3-0 to China before bouncing back with a 2-1 victory over Kenya. The matches gave the technical team an opportunity to assess the players and refine their approach ahead of the group stage.
Drawn in Group C, Ghana will begin their campaign against Norway on Sunday, October 18, at 18:00 GMT on Pitch 3 of the Mohammed VI Football Complex.
Their second match will be against Brazil on Thursday, October 22, at 18:00 GMT at the same venue. The Maidens will conclude their group fixtures against Canada on Saturday, October 24, at 15:00 GMT on Pitch 1.
Ghana return to the tournament after missing the previous edition, with hopes of adding to the country’s record in the competition.
The Black Maidens secured a historic bronze medal in 2012 and have also reached the quarter-finals on three occasions. Adarkwa’s side will be looking to draw inspiration from those achievements as they pursue another strong showing on the world stage.
