The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced scheduled maintenance-related power interruptions affecting several communities across the Greater Accra, Tema, Ashanti, and Central regions from July 20 to July 23, 2026.
The planned outages are part of ongoing maintenance activities aimed at improving the reliability and stability of Ghana’s electricity distribution network.
Greater Accra and Tema Areas Affected
In the Accra West and Accra East operational areas, several communities will experience temporary power interruptions, including:
- Otinibi
- Danfa
- Oyibi
- Amrahia
- New Bortianor
- Tseaddo
Within the Tema operational area, affected locations include:
- King Solomon
- Santor
- Nelplast
- Kubekro
- Klagon
- Apollonia
Ashanti Region Communities on the Outage List
In the Ashanti Region, ECG maintenance works will affect several communities across Ashanti West and surrounding areas.
Affected locations include:
- Atwima Agogo
- Mankranso
- Kunsu
- Sepaase
- Nkawie
- Abuakwa Maakro
Central Region Affected Communities
Residents in parts of the Central Region will also experience scheduled outages.
The affected areas include:
- Ankamu Junction
- Apam
- Gomoa Dago
- Brimso Headworks
- Ankaful
- Komenda
- Nearby communities
Planned Outage Schedule
ECG has outlined the following timelines for the maintenance interruptions:
- Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Central Region: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Customers in the affected areas are advised to plan accordingly and take necessary precautions during the scheduled maintenance periods.
GRIDCo Maintenance Affects Volta Region
Separately, the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) has announced maintenance work in parts of the Volta Region on July 20, 2026.
The exercise is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and will affect communities including:
- Aflao
- Denu
- Keta
- Dzodze
ECG Urges Public Cooperation
The power companies have encouraged residents and businesses in affected communities to cooperate during the maintenance period.
The planned interruptions are expected to support network upgrades, improve system performance, and enhance the overall reliability of electricity supply across the country.
