Ghana investment promotion center delegation visited The Manhyia Palace

GIPC

A delegation from the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre paid a courtesy visit to Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on March 10, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen investment promotion in the Ashanti Region.

The delegation was received by Nana Dwamena Akenten II, the Offinsohene, and Nana Kofi Badu, Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace, who welcomed the team on behalf of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The purpose of the visit was to brief the Asantehene on the Centre’s plans to highlight investment opportunities in the Ashanti Region and to seek his blessings and guidance ahead of the upcoming Ashanti Regional Investment Forum.

The delegation was led by the Board Chairman of the GIPC, Akwasi Oppong-Fosu. Other members of the team included the Chief Executive Officer, Simon Madjie, the Deputy CEO, Abdul Razak Baba, and board member Mercy Afrowa Needjan.

During the visit, the delegation also toured the Manhyia Palace Museum, where they were introduced to aspects of the rich history and cultural heritage of the Ashanti Kingdom.

Officials say the visit forms part of the GIPC’s broader Investment Opportunities Mapping Project, an initiative designed to decentralize investment promotion by identifying and promoting specific regional investment opportunities across Ghana. The project aims to connect both local and international investors with high-potential sectors in different regions of the country, thereby supporting balanced national economic development.
