Young Ghanaian lawyer Latifa Teiya Fuseini has gained admission to Harvard Law School, marking another significant milestone in her academic and professional journey.

Her admission, announced in mid-August 2026, follows her emergence as the overall best graduating student of the Ghana School of Law’s Class of 2025.

Fuseini placed first among 824 candidates called to the Ghanaian Bar in 2025. Her exceptional performance earned her the John Mensah Sarbah Memorial Prize, the institution’s highest recognition for the best all-round student.

She was also named the Best Student in Conveyancing and Drafting, adding to a growing list of academic accomplishments.

Before attending the Ghana School of Law, Fuseini studied at the Faculty of Law of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She graduated with First Class Honors in 2023 after completing her secondary education at Achimota School in 2019.

Fuseini is the daughter of Alhaji A.B.A. Fuseini, a former National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for the Sagnarigu Constituency.

Despite her family’s political background, she has attributed her decision to pursue law to a personal desire to challenge barriers and create opportunities for others.

Fuseini has previously spoken about the limited representation of Muslim Dagomba women in Ghana’s legal profession. She hopes her accomplishments will inspire more young women from similar backgrounds to pursue careers in law and other demanding professions.

Her admission to Harvard Law School further strengthens her reputation as one of Ghana’s promising young legal professionals.
